Enjoy a couple of the finer things in life on this three-to-four hour excursion. You’ll spend half your time floating gently down the Verde River, taking in the sights and sounds of northern Arizona. And occasionally, you’ll encounter a chute or rapid that will command your attention. Don’t worry, though, it’s nothing too intense—just enough to keep your blood pumping.

After unwinding on the Verde River, you’ll experience even more good times at Alcantara Vineyards. There, you’ll receive credit to have a few glasses of wine and to pick up a bottle or two. There’s something here for everyone, whether you prefer red or white, light or full-bodied.

Moreover, you’ll love exploring the grounds of winery. With acres of grapes, a beautiful little chapel, and a Tuscan-style farmhouse that’ll transport you to the Mediterranean, Alcantara is a world-class destination that will charm your socks off.

So get ready for the relaxing getaway that you’ve been craving for months. A float down the Verde River and a glass at Alcantara Vineyards is jus what the doctor ordered.

Most of the year this is a fun river float trip well suited to beginners and children. The Verde River is more of a big creek than a river. You will encounter about 12 sporty little chutes of water where you can take a break from paddling. There is no white water. Sometimes, during our spring run-off in February and March and during our rainy season of mid July through mid September there can be bigger water flows. Our experienced guides will offer information on what to expect and conduct a pre-trip “Paddling 101? class to show you how to navigate the river.
