Bike Mount Kilauea on this Big Island tour! As one of the most active volcanoes in the world, Kilauea will amaze you with its glowing lava and scorching heat. All the while, you’ll cruise comfortably upon paved and unpaved trails, in addition to well-traveled roads.

Meet your tour guide at the Jaggar Museum, where you’ll get an introduction to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Go up to the lookout, and behold Mount Kilauea below. As you make your way through the halls of the museum, your guide will explain all that you’re seeing and all that you’re about to see on the ride.

Once you’ve reached Kilauea Overlook, you’ll be fitted with equipment and given a Giant Sedona DX hybrid mountain bike. Then, you’ll start with a brief off-road excursion to the caldera rim, where the steam vents will harass you with their intense heat. You’ll also pass through a rainforest section of the summit on your way to Crater Rim Drive, which runs through still more greenery.

Lastly, you’ll head to Iki Crater Overlook for a long look at the cinder cone, Puu Puai, and on to Thurston Lava Tube. After weaving through yet another segment of rainforest, the final stop will be a lava flow from 1974.

So hop onto your mountain bike and get ready to see the Big Island as it was meant to be seen.
